Specifically, what unaccounted for factor or relationship do you think is impacting the level of support for redistribution in the United States? Make as compelling of a case as possible for your factor. This is going to require that you acknowledge the importance of other factors and discuss how your factor makes an impact that is distinct from these other factors. This paper should take a form similar to the introduction, literature review, and theory section of a journal article. It doesn’t propose a formal test of the argument, but rather focuses on making the strongest possible theoretical argument. It is essentially a justification for running a test or series of tests.
