Select one work from the exhibition and write a short (2-3 pages/ 12 point font/ double spaced) visual analysis of the work. The goal of this assignment is to interpret the meaning of the work through a thorough visual analysis that pays attention to broader issues of surrounding cultural context. Early on in the paper, you should introduce a broad claim about the work’s meaning that will frame what follows, and your visual analysis should then support that claim by arguing for its validity through tangible evidence found in the work of art itself (as well as what you know about the historical moment of its production).
