A Morning Snow–Hudson River
The selected object is entitled, ‘A Morning Snow–Hudson River’ painted by George Wesley Bellows. This object is one of his many winter paintings. The works shows the essence and colors of deep winter. The color used is dull, but urban, without being intense or ugly, and the light from the sun has interacted very well to reflect on the snow and the long shadows, to emphasis it is early morning. The figures and motifs depicted are continuous snow up to the horizon as it is winter. The figures include men, and boats. Probably they work with the boats. The surface quality is gloss and fine, as beautiful as winter comes.
