ASSIGNMENT:
In the LA Times article linked above, Rodriguez details the stories behind seven of his iconic photographs. Please pick one of those seven images that you connect the most with and write a brief response to the image. Please use the following questions as prompts:
1. What about the image do you find appealing? Why do you feel a connection to this photo?
2. Are you a photo-taker with either your phone or a camera? What sort of images are you drawn the most towards making? Why?
George Rodriguez is a Los Angeles-based photographer who photographed a diverse swath of Los Angeles culture. From movie stars to political protests, Rodriguez’s multi-decade career captured various pockets of life and culture from the 1960’s to the present. His career retrospective just closed a few months ago at the Vincent Price Art Museum on the campus of ELAC.
