Overview

The correct evaluation and quality implementation of interventions and research are essential within the field of education.  There are many jobs within the field of special education.  Many jobs may be found in public or private facilities, government agencies, Universities, administration, all levels of education, and within community organizations. No matter the job you will be required to assess interventions and research to determine its validity. 

Throughout this course, multiple concepts have been presented and studied (quality indicators, evidence-based practice, quantitative, single-subject and qualitative research).  For this assignment, you will evaluate a quantitative and single-subject research article (From the list provided) using Lane, Common, Royer, and Muller’s (2014) quality indicator matrix.  (MLO: A, B, C, D)

1.     Navigate to http://www.ci3t.org/practice.

2.     Download the excel document “Quality Indicator Coding Matrix” and “Quality Indicator Coding Matrix Walk-Through Guide.”

3.     Answer the questions located in the Quality Indicator coding matrix short answer questions word document located the Assignment Instructions folder. 

4.     Select one article from the quantitative group comparison and one article from the single subject group comparison list below. 

5.     Evaluate each article using the readings from this class and Lane et al. (2014) quality indicator matrix. The Standards overview and walk-through guide will be a vital resource for the completion of this assignment. Be sure to save your excel matrix to submit.

6.     After evaluating each article with the quality indicator matrix submit your excel matrix and short answer questions.
