Felony cases are routinely settled by plea bargaining, whereby the suspect pleads guilty in exchange for a promise of receiving a lower sentence. Obviously, this means that the suspect gives up some of his or her constitutional rights. What rights are involved in such instances? Are plea bargains a good idea? Why or why not?
Response posts should always add something new. Responses that describe the post (i.e. “This is a great post. I like the way you said…. Good job!) will not get many points. Conversely, you might say “Whilst I agree with you on point x, I think….” or “You make a good point on y; what about situations where…?
