Create a presentation that will serve as an executive briefing to a school’s board of directors outlining the following:
Describe warning signs of school violence or harassment.
Outline how educational facilities can protect staff, faculty, and students from violence, harassment, and crimes.
Discuss preventative measures, including security precautions that could be put into place.
Identify staff, faculty, and student help or counseling programs.
Organization and Development
The presentation is 8 to 10 slides – not counting title and reference slide.
The presentation is clear and organized; major points are supported by details, examples, or analysis.
The presentation uses visual and auditory aids appropriately and effectively.
The presentation effectively incorporates design elements, such as font, color, headings, and spacing.
The presentation is logical, flows, and reviews the major points.
Mechanics and Format
The assignment file is presentable and functional; for example, the audio clips are audible, visual components are viewable, and links work appropriately.
The speaker’s notes are detailed and have complete sentences with correct grammar and punctuation. Students fully explain each slide as if they were giving an in-person presentation.
Rules of grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct throughout the presentation.
The presentation is consistent with APA guidelines; intellectual property is recognized with in-text citations and references.
Power Point Presentation Notes
This week you have a PowerPoint presentation due. I thought I might give you some guidelines to help you when doing a PP Presentation.
Use color! Use pictures! Don’t junk it up too much, but keep it interesting for your audience. Keeping people awake during a PowerPoint presentation can sometimes be difficult!
Each slide should have a title of what it contains. On the slide you want a title followed by no more than 5 or 6 bullets with 5 or 6 words each. The majority of the information you will provide will be in your speaker’s notes. I always suggest having your speaker’s notes detailed enough that someone else could make your presentation if you became suddenly incapacitated!
Citations for the information on each slide should be in the speaker’s notes, also.
You need a Title slide, then 6-8 slides, finishing up with a Reference slide. If you have any questions, please ask. I hope this helps you all get started!
