I’m working on a film exercise and need a sample draft to help me learn.
The NP in this video is making changing in her patients lives by being there for people who have limited care options. She treats patients who are close to death. She can create an atmosphere according to the patients’ wishes. She was able to be for her patient even on her off day or late at night.
The relationship with Ron and his brother causes some concern for me. I value taking care of people in need. My belief and values lead me to want Ron to have a hold on his own life without being taken advantage of. People of sound mind should be about to take care of their lives as they see fit.
To overcome this barrier, I need to remember that everyone has their own thoughts and beliefs. As a nurse practitioner I need to keep my patient safe. The service of adult protective services allows someone to come and investigate the situation more than I could.
There are cost and benefits of this barrier. The cost is I could overlook some being taken advantage of. Another cost is by the time I see it and contact APS for my patient, the situation could be advanced or too late. A cost could be if the situation is deemed unharmful, I could loose rapport with my patient. A benefit is getting a patient out of a harmful situation. A benefit is letting my patient see that I care for them in a holistic manner.
