In system 1 reducing the river temperature and pollution, Albany had the chose of picking a way to lower the rivers temperature. Albany could of picked to go green or to pick a hard infustucture. Going green was more of a way that the city of Albany wanted to go and with it come with its own challenges. With going green can be more expensive but will help to maintain the whole river in healthy state. Where as the other option could have other affects with it.
In system 2 the water management is a good example of how both New York and Portland do to help protect their water. Each have their own systems to make sure the water is taken care of but at the same time one might be better than the other. Both cities have seen their own way of looking at the system.
In system 3 the dam had been their to help improve the land for human use. The other hand it cause damage to wildlife, this is why the dam has been removed and at the same time can be hard to pick what side you want to be in and how it will effect both sides.
The system that I am picking for my term long project is the removal of the Marmot Dam in Oregon. I have picked this system over the other project because I feel that I have more of a connection with it. I have always liked and been very interested by dams. The other systems are interesting but do not have the same interest in them as I do for system 3.
