Identify an aspect of one of the first four “Classic”
Horror films and perform an analysis of it, discussing its contribution
to the film and the ways it either conforms to or challenges the
genre. Engagement with film scholarship is needed. (At least 5 references).
Films to choose from Psycho(1960), The Exorcist(1973), Texas Chainsaw Massacre(1974), Suspiria(1977), The Shining(1980)
I can provide 1-2 readings that we were given while watching each of the films, but you have to let me know which one you chose. The time includes getting references and writing the essay, but not watching the film.
