The Role of Race in a Specific Piece
Choose one of the following listening examples:
“Black Snake Moan,” “Brazil,” “Nagüe,” “God Bless the Child,” or “The Sun Didn’t Shine.”
For this week’s paper, write about how race, religion, and nationality have had an effect on this piece of music. Has the piece been “covered” later in order to change that sound? Were there visual differences that defined the music? Were special instruments used to give it a certain sound?
Research topic and write a 300-word paper.
