Prompt: Discuss the history of the Author as understood by Roland Barthes, and speculate about how he would react to the continued dominance of auteurism in the study of cinema. Think in some depth about your own relation to cinema; in particular, why do you see the films that you do? Think about how auteurism has perpetuated industrial practices that maintain the status quo (in relation to gender and race) in the context of the financing and distribution of films.

Also please make sure you use Times New Roman font size 12 and the works cited are included and it is in MLA format 🙂
