Jeffery and Susie are 4 years old. They have a love —hate relationship. They are either the best of friends or arguing. They can get very intense in friendly cooperative play or disagreements. Both sets of parents have seen them argue. Susie’s family are Christians and Jeffrey’s parents are Muslim. When Jeffrey and Susie are getting along they sit by each other at lunch time. They often share their food. The teacher tries to stop this by seating them at different tables. Sometimes she forgets. The other teacher in that classroom gets angry when they share food because the parents complain to her. Jeffery’s parents get very upset when sharing food happens. Susie’s parents believe that Jeffery is too rough with her Both parents have complained many times and now are threatening to remove the children from the center.
