Mntc 320 – non-metallic processes

Category: Engineering

Write a report about a recently developed non-metallic process.  For this report, we will also consider that recently means within the  approximately last 5 years. The length of the report needs to be  between 1 ½ to 2 pages in length. Include your references immediately after your last paragraph.

Reports can be turned in electronically on Canvas or in person during class/lab time. You can turn in your reports earlier than the due date. Good luck on your research. I look forward to reading your papers.

Formatting:

Colored or Grey Text: For  this class, set all of the text to black. The assignments are printed  out on a black and white printer for review. This aids in their  readability.

Text Size: All  of the text in these assignments needs to be set in 12-point size.  Please resist the temptation to mix and match point sizes. If you doubt  your applications intentions, just select all of your text and insure  that it is in 12-point size.

Double Spacing: For this class select all of your text and set it for double spacing.  This includes the name block, title and body of your work. This allows  space for marking up or making notes while I am reviewing what you have  written.

Margins: Set your page up for one-inch margins. One-inch margins mean  one (1”) on all sides. The default settings in MS Word are set for one  and one fourth (1 ¼”), so you will need to check/change it on each new  file you start. If you doubt the measurement, then print a page out and  check it with a ruler. The only text that ends up on the outside of the  one-inch margin is the page number.

Name Block: Place the name block in the upper left corner of the page.  In this class, the name block only needs to be on the first page. Put your name first, then the class title and then the date.

MNTC 320 – Non-Metallic Processes

October 26, 2017

Title: All reports have a title. For this class, place the title in the center, right to left, of the page between the name block and the first sentence of the report body.

Paragraphs: The first word of the first sentence in each paragraph needs to be indented. At the end of a paragraph, do not insert an extra blank line. The indentation serves as the visual clue that there is a new paragraph.

Spelling/Grammar Checking: Remember  to do your spelling and grammar checking before turning your  assignments in. When doing the spelling/grammar checking keep in mind  that some words such as mush and must, woods and words, or here and cow,  will not be caught by either check. To correct these problems, you will  need to proofread your work.

Page Numbers: Any  report that you do that has more than one page needs to have page  numbers on it. For this class, place your page numbers on the bottom of  the page. In MS Word use the footer selection and place the page number  on the bottom right of the page.
