Social Statistics + SPSS
Use SPSS to get your mean, median, variance, range, std deviation OR use Excel (I found my x-xbar with the mean rounded to one decimal place) and then I just summed up the squared column – so I kept all decimal places until the end OR if you use your calculator (when calculating variance, use the mean rounded to one decimal place for the x-xbar^2 and don’t round until the very end). You should check your answers with SPSS either way to make sure you have the correct numbers.
SPSS DOES NOT calculate Q1 and Q3 correctly, so do those by hand.
