The Affordable Care Act has provided many benefits to Americans. For example, in a recent article in The Nation’s Health, the American Public Health Associations newsletter, they highlighted a story of a man looking to obtain insurance for his family and with some convincing himself as well. With his new coverage he went in for his first physical in over twenty years, upon examination they found that he had colon cancer. Fortunately, with new insurance in hand he was able to receive the needed treatment and now has a very health prognosis ahead of him. While there are countless stories of people being helped by the Affordable Care Act, there are also countless stories about individuals falling through coverage or income gaps and being forced to live without insurance.
