For this assignment, please go to http://www.osha.gov and search for “Safety and Health Case Study: Fleet Safety at
Abbott.” This Case Study addresses issues pertinent to the topics within this unit. After reading the study, please critique
the study by answering following questions:
1. Based on the information in the case and Exhibit 3 of the study, would you recommend behind the wheel
training for only new hires or for the entire fleet of drivers? Explain why you came to this decision.
2. Would you say that management commitment is apparent in this study? Be specific and provide
examples to support your discussion.
3. By using other data and resources outside of the Abbot Labs Case Study, critique how ultimately effective
the fleet safety program is in the Case Study.
