Current Issues in Cultural Diversity on Campus

Format: Use APA format, 3-4 pages, double spaced, Times New Roman.  Please include a cover page.

There have been an increase of conflicts surrounding culture on college campuses.  These conflicts include but are not limited to the following categories:  Race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability etc.  Treat this assignment as your own case study. Use the case studies in your text as a guide.

1. Locate an event on any college campus (within the last 5 years). 
2. Describe the event (not more than 1 page).

You are the student affairs professional and I am seeking your expertise and guidance.  Using your textbook and at least one additional reference (such as an article from a scholarly journal), address the following: 

1. Identify the cultural diversity dilemma(s) and the stake holders.  Identify some elements of oppression etc.
2. The president of the college or university has asked for your advice.  In terms of student affairs, what expertise and remedies would you suggest?  Your suggestions should be based on the theories, models and practices from the text.
