Article Analysis #10- Interest Groups

part 1:

Please review the CIS Department  (https://scc.losrios.edu/academics/programs-and-majors/computer-information-science) programs and majors, and complete the following:

• View all of the CIS Programs available at SCC for Computer Information Science
• View the CIS Catalog to review detailed courses within each program
  • Catalogs can motivate you 🙂 as you look to achieve your dreams!!

What to submit for this posting

• Post a short 2-3 paragraph summary of at least one program that may be interesting to you
• How would the discipline influence your career path (or not).
• Include your perspective of how computer science may influence the future, the economy, the workforce, or your own career path. How will technology affect your career or future?
• At the end of your posting, include links to the page(s), you referenced in your summary/discussion.

Part 2:

First, read a news story from the newspaper or the Internet.  Answer the following questions regarding your news story: 1) What is the main issue, who are the main actors being discussed;  

Second, choose one of the assigned articles you read for this week.  Answer the following questions regarding the assigned article: 1) What are the basics of this article (who, what, when, how, why, etc.);  2) What is the overall main point the author is trying to convince you of?  3) Do you agree with the author’s argument?  Why?  Why not?   

Finally, tie together your news story with what you learned from the assigned article, textbook readings, podcasts, videos, etc. for this week.  Type your answers using your own words, no outline or bullets, complete sentences and paragraphs, single-spaced, full-page.
