You are to write a paper about an event that started as an emergency and turned into a disaster. Your paper must address, at a minimum:
Your paper must be at least 10 pages and should not be more than 24 typed pages long. It must have a bibliography that includes technical resources relevant to your topic.
Grading Rubic for max grade:
Paper covers an event with major environmental significance that started as an emergency and turned into a disaster. The paper covers in great detail the background of the conditions before the event began or occurred; the steps or activities that led to the emergency event; the chronology of the entire event from its beginning as an emergency to the end of the recovery from the disaster; the principal response parties involved in the entire event, including private entities and government agencies; and the lessons learned from the event. The paper has a detailed discussion of the student’s opinion of how well the event was managed.
Event presented in a clear, concise, and organized manner. Addresses all of the subject areas required in the project description. Covers an event that had major evironmental consequences. Exceeded minimum length requirements. Has a cover page; a table of contents linked to page numbering; uses sectional headings; contains graphics such as pictures, charts, graphs; contains a bibliography with appropriate references.
