The ethics committee has a crucial role within the leadership structure of any healthcare organization today. New technologies in medicine have raised many new ethical dilemmas, especially regarding procreation and end-of-life decisions. These types of dilemmas could never have been anticipated just a few decades ago.
What is the role of an ethics committee in a modern healthcare facility? Do some research, and present at least two issues which come before ethics committees and give at least one example.
Would you like to serve on an ethics committee at some point in your career? Why or why not?
