Consider the differences between targeted marketing and mass marketing and what led to the rise of each. Do you think one is more effective than the other? Why, or why not? Are you currently the target market for any goods or services? What compels you to choose one brand over another?

Carrie:
Target Marketing involves breaking a market into segments and then concentrating your marketing efforts on one or more key parts consisting of the customers whose needs and desires most closely match your product or service offerings. Mass marketingis a market strategy in which a firm decides to ignore marketsegment differences and appeal the whole market with one offer or one strategy, which supports the idea of broadcasting a message that will reach the largest number of people possible. While I think that both have positive and negative effects I believe that if I where to have to pay for an advertisement I would choose Mass Marketing. If you choose Mass Marketing then you could hit on the Target while possibly picking up some new customers that did not realize they would be interested in your product. I just recently tried a new product due to Mass Marketing. I was pulled in because of the advertisement. I would not have normally purchased this item but because of the location in the store and the display it caught my eye and I purchased the item.
