I have had both positive and negative experiences with HR professionals. I worked for a while in the staffing industry and with that I was working a lot with the HR contacts of companies that I wanted to work with. Many of those
experiences were very good but my poor experience actually came with that of the company that I was working for. There was a significant lack of communication as well as a seeming lack of knowledge on the way to address issues with employees. These experiences had a standoff feeling to start then a lot of finger pointing. I believe that knowledge is huge in the profession but a giant aspect is also communication styles and being able to understand others.
