In this week’s lesson, you learned about the U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent racial and ethnic categories. For this assignment, consider the racial and ethnic categories used in the 2010 Census with the four racial, ethnic, and gender categories used in the 1790 Census: Free white males, free white females, all other free persons, slaves (Pew Research Center, 2015). Analyze the concepts of race, ethnicity, and gender as social constructs, just as sociologists do, by addressing the following:

Note: This assignment involves some tough historic times in our country involving race and ethnicity. You may feel angry, surprised, concerned and other things. You also get to be creative and think about changes you would like! **You can choose the 2020 survey or the 2010 per the instructions. Either one is fine. This assignment was created prior to the 2020 census.
Also, note: I had a recording of this, so please ignore my brief mention of the Week 4 quiz this week, as this term the quizzes were replaced by the short-answer assignments. Please prepare your two answers in ONE document, with just something like “Question 1” and “Question 2” as headings.
